Updates to KaoGames itself: new features for players and for the creators who publish here, newest first.
Creators now get an Analytics panel in Your games: plays per day, players and how many came back, rank among every game on the site, likes, how often people tap their game in Discover and on the homepage, favorites and cloud saves, over 7, 30 or 90 days.
Boosts reach further too. A boosted game can now appear in Discover, as a Sponsored tile on the homepage and in the ad spaces across the site, always labeled. Creators can aim a boost at phones or desktop, and at players who like a particular genre.
The homepage is now built as shelves: today's pick, games picked for you, what's hot right now, fresh builds and the most loved, with categories one tap away in the top bar.
Picked for you learns from what people actually tap, so new games get a fair chance and good ones rise. On a phone you only see games that play on phones, and a tab bar along the bottom keeps Home, Discover, Charts, Developers and your account within reach.
Publishing is open in beta. Sign in, agree to the developer terms and upload your game as a zip. It gets its own address on our network, KaoGames reviews it before it goes live, and then it is in Discover, credited to you.
Every month a creator fund is shared between the people who publish here, by how much their games are played and how many players come back. Every payout is public on the creator fund page. The developers page has the Kao SDK, guides, and prompts you can give your AI assistant to get a game ready or build one from an idea.
You can now sign in with Google. An account keeps your favorites, your recently played games and your Discover picks on every device, and every game still works without one.
Games can save to your account too, so progress made on a laptop is waiting on your phone. Eight games support it already, and creators can add it to theirs with two lines of code.
A new way to find something to play: scroll through games one at a time and play any of them right in the feed. It learns from what you play, skip and like, and clicking a game anywhere on the site now opens it there.
On a computer, games built for phones are shown wide where they can be, so nothing plays in a narrow strip down the middle of the screen.
KaoGames can now host games built with three.js as well as Unity and plain browser code. They load in a fraction of the time and play on phones as well as desktop.
Game pages also fit phone screens properly. On narrow phones they used to be a little wider than the screen and could scroll sideways.
Free browser games that start the moment you click: no download, no launcher and nothing to install.
